Piazza d’Assi Flat

Piazza d’Assi flat is located on the top floor of Palazzo d’Assi, a building that dates back to 927 AD, in the historic centre of Monforte d’Alba, with a breath-taking panoramic view of the Langhe hills, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Piazza d’Assi flat is the jewel of Palazzo d’Assi, with its panoramic view and the truly unique combination of ancient walls and modern design.

The entrance porch, from which you will get access to the flat, was the place where municipal publications were posted, and is still owned by the Municipality of Monforte today, even though it is used by our guests. From the porch, you can enter the flat through the surprising corridor with a vaulted ceiling clad with barrel staves and backlit wrought iron sculptures.

To the left of the corridor you will find the first bedroom, with a bunk bed and a single bed. Here we invite you to the charm of discovery, going in search of a wall graffiti that bears a small child’s drawing and the date 926. After this first bedroom, the bathroom with minimal and refined design and light patterns combining rustic charm and modern aesthetics. Finally, the great space of the large, open space kitchen with its 5 arched windows literally overlooking the Langhe, at the sight of which you will be enchanted.

Curious facts about this house
The name Piazza d’Assi derives from the name of the ancient covered market square of the hamlet, paved with wooden planks, which was located right here.Monforte d’Alba nelle Langhe

Monforte d’Alba in the Langhe
Palazzo d’Assi is located on the edge of the pedestrian area, in the heart of the ancient hamlet of Monforte d’Alba, formerly “Mons Fortis“, a name that in itself tells of a hamlet perched with its maze of colourful buildings and alleys going all the way up to the top of the hill.
A position that requires some effort to walk up to, but which reserves the reward of magical atmospheres and breath-taking glimpses and views.
Today, one of the 11 municipalities of Barolo, in the heart of the Langhe, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Monforte perhaps counts the largest number of the most famous producers of this universally known and recognized wine.
Choosing to stay in Monforte means living the authentic experience of the Langhe, in a strategic position for reaching the main points of interest both in terms of food and wine experiences, and for visiting the rich historical and artistic heritage of this land.
Choosing Palazzo d’Assi in Monforte means choosing to take a journey through time, starting from the origins of these hills, when its fame for wine was still to come.

It is possible to park the car for loading and unloading in front of the Palazzo between via della Torre and via Boeri, or, if there is room, park along the wall of via della Torre without blocking the no parking areas.
